Mount Ida College Football Recruiting Homepage

The Mount Ida College football program began competing in NCAA contests in 1999. They joined the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) in 2009 and captured an ECFC championship and NCAA tournament appearance in 2012. The Mustangs have also appeared in two ECAC North Atlantic Bowl games.

Every season, the Mustangs match up against opponents from the ECFC, as well as a tough non-conference schedule made up of local and regional opponents.

The following are some steps you can take to help in the recruiting process:

1. Complete our Recruiting Questionnaire.  Fill out the recruiting form (below) in its entirety so we will have your information on hand. Feel free to contact Head Coach Mike Landers (mlanders@mountida.edu) or 617-928-4083 with any questions.

2. Come visit. Make a visit to campus with your parents. Contact Coach Landers with some anticipated dates.  Coach Landers will confirm availability, which will then allow you the chance to schedule a campus tour and admissions interview through our Admission’s Office at 617-928-4553. Coach Landers and his staff are available throughout the year and are happy to meet with prospects and their families in the football office. Please anticipate spending about three hours during a complete visit.

3. Send a video or YouTube clips. Send a game or highlight tape of you playing in a competitive environment.  We can't get out to see every prospect play. Looking at a tape or YouTube clips of you allows us at least something to go on, which may be helpful in evaluating your ability to play at Mount Ida.

4. See the team play. Check out the schedule and come watch the team play. Send Coach Landers an email in advance at mlanders@mountida.edu or call him at 617-928-4083 so either he or his staff can meet you at the end of the game.

The Process: The football staff attends games and tournaments throughout a prospect’s junior and senior years. This allows us to establish a positive relationship and rapport with the prospect as well as his family and evaluate their growth and development as a player.
