Fall Student-Athletes to Takeover Instagram for Second Annual Competition

NEWTON, Mass. – For the second consecutive year, Mount Ida College teams will compete against each other during the week of preseason in the return of the Mount Ida Athletics Instagram Takeover contest.

Starting on Saturday, September 19th, each of seven teams will be taking over the Mount Ida Instagram account (@mtidaathletics) to give fans an inside look at their preseason as they train for the 2017 campaign.

For 24 hours, each team will have the ability to post photos and videos, create an Instagram story and even go "Instagram Live" in order to showcase their team during practice, meals and team bonding activities while showing off the Mount Ida College campus.

This year, we are asking teams to also introduce the Mount Ida community to the new members of their team by highlighting the freshmen and transfers throughout their takeover.

Here is the schedule for the 2017 Mount Ida Athletics Preseason Instagram takeover:

Saturday, 8/19 – Cheerleading
Sunday, 8/20 – Men's Soccer
Monday, 8/21 – Women's Volleyball
Tuesday, 8/22 – Football
Wednesday, 8/23 – Women's Tennis
Thursday, 8/24 – Field Hockey (Defending Champions of 2016 Instagram Takeover Contest)
Friday, 8/25 – Women's Soccer

Encourage as many family, friends and teammates to follow us and like your posts on Instagram, as the winning team will be heavily decided by how engaged their fans are with their posts.
