SENIOR KYLE WATKINS NAMED MUSTANG OF THE WEEK
Senior wide receiver Kyle Watkins (New Haven, CT/James Hillhouse) has been selected as Mustang-of-the-Week. Watkins, who was also named the first ever offensive-player-of-the-week for the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) in week one, had an outstanding individual overall performance this past Saturday. The Mustangs traveled to non-conference New England Football Conference (NEFC) powerhouse Bridgewater State College taking home a tough 40-29 loss. Watkins hauled in 11 catches on 162 yards with three touchdowns along with one kick return for 13 yards. Watkins scored the final three TD's of the game for the Mustangs, two from senior quarterback Michael Cloutier (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) and another from freshman Scott Drosendahl (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora). The Mustangs will travel to Plymouth State University this coming Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m. Mount Ida beat the Panthers last year in Newton, Massachusetts winning 24-7 in dramatic fashion for their biggest victory of the season in 2008.
