Cross Country Runs Wild at GNAC Championship

STANDISH, Maine -- The Mount Ida College men's and women's cross country teams finished out their 2015 season on Saturday afternoon by racing at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championships, hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine.

The men's team finished eighth overall, and saw Chris Kidger (Groton, Mass.) named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team, while the women's side took tenth place and honored Sam McGraw as All-Sportsmanship team.

Junior Chevona Markel (Torrington, Conn.) was the top finisher for the Mount Ida women, taking 96th place in a time of 27:50. Not far behind was Jordawn Moses (Arlington, Mass.), whose time of 27:57 was good enough for 101st place showing.

The mens' side was paced by a strong showing by junior Jabari Bradley (Amityville, N.Y.), who earned 39 points for his 34:41 finish.

Gordon Haner (Mount Sinai, N.Y.) took 60th place overall and earned 41 points by finishing in a time of 37:46 for the Mustangs, with Alex Pereira (North Attleboro, Mass.) and Eric Walker (Newington, Conn.) finishing consecutively at 40:54-5.
