Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Finish Strong at Blazer Invitational

CHICOPEE, Mass. -- The Mount Ida College men's and women's cross country team's took part in their third invitational this past weekend at Blazer Invitational on the campus of Elms College.

On the women's side, Jamie Gassman (Middletown, Conn.) finished 21st (out of 79 runners) overall in the women's 6k with a final time of 28:16 and a pace time of 7:35. Gabriella Shapiro (Sharon, Mass.) placed 54th while finishing with a 33:05 time. Senior Samantha Laferriere (Tewksbury, Mass.) finished her 6k with a time of 36:36.

Men's first year runner Ryan Burch (Greenwich, N.Y.) took home 7th place, out of 50 runners, in the men's 8k with a final time of 30:12 and a pace time of 6:05. Seniors Jabari Bradley (Amityville, N.Y.) and Cole Davis (Chester, N.H.) finished 22nd and 49th places respectively while Bradley completed his 8k at 33:15 and Davis at 42:34

The women's team did not have a team score while Burch, Bradley and Davis helped lead the Mustangs to a 6th place finish out of seven teams.
