Scahill, Henry Repeat as GNAC Players of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. -- For the second time this year, Mount Ida College women's lacrosse players Jessica Henry (Wilbraham, Mass.) and Brooke Scahill (Ledyard, Conn.) have been honored by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Henry was named GNAC Corvias Goalkeeper of the Week and Scahill earned GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week honors. Each received the same award during the first week of the season.

Henry went 2-0 this past week and was phenomenal against conference foe Emmanuel, making 15 saves while allowing just four goals in a 16-4 victory. Henry had a 3.33 GAA this week and stopped 76.2 percent of shots against her.

Scahill continued to control the games off of the draw, winning 17 draw controls to help Mount Ida to a pair of wins last week. She also poured in seven goals and four assists for 11 points. She caused three turnovers and grabbed five ground balls in each contest, and went 4-of-9 from the free position line.

The Mustangs (9-1, 2-0 GNAC) are in the midst of their best start to a season in program history. They will travel to Rivier this evening for a 6:00 pm GNAC contest.
