The Mount Ida women’s lacrosse team is looking to make a run at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference title this spring, and the Mustangs are picked to be one of the league’s top squads in the 2018 pre-season coaches’ poll released earlier today.
Mount Ida was selected to finish fourth in the final GNAC standings in this year’s prognostications, as sixth-year Head Coach Nicole Poli’s Mustangs garnered 85 points in the poll to rank behind only Johnson & Wales, Lasell and Saint Joseph’s (Maine) in the 11-team conference race.
Poli led her crew to the best season in program history last spring, as Mount Ida posted a 14-5 overall mark and advanced to the conference semifinals for the first time in six years. The Mustangs open the 2018 campaign on Wednesday, February 28th with a non-league clash at Wentworth that begins at 5:00 p.m. EST.
