Mount Ida senior Eleanor Garvey was named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday afternoon for her efforts in a pair of season-opening matches for the Mustangs last week.
A native of Elkridge, Md. and a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, Garvey made 30 saves and posted a .545 saves percentage while notching a 12.50 goals against average in the two outings, including 21 stops in a 15-7 season-opening victory at Wentworth last Wednesday afternoon. Eleanor made nine saves for Head Coach Nicole Poli’s squad in last Saturday’s 18-16 setback to Colby-Sawyer.
Mount Ida will be idle until Wednesday, March 14th when the Mustangs entertain Wheelock in a non-league clash at Alumni Field beginning at 4:00 p.m. EDT.
